Get ready for these Warzone changes arriving in Black Ops 6
New map: Area 99
Area 99, a fresh Resurgence map described as the “birthplace” of Nuketown, is one of the most anticipated additions to Warzone in Black Ops 6, featuring a classified military base shrouded in secrecy.
Situated in a desert region, this high-tech installation is filled with underground bunkers, hidden laboratories, and experimental weaponry.
Players will find intense close-quarter combat opportunities in its tight corridors, while the open exterior allows for sniping and ambush tactics.
Omnimovement

Black Ops 6 is introducing Omnimovement, a new movement system that allows players to traverse the battlefield in more fluid ways. This mechanic is designed to provide more freedom in combat, and it’s making its way to Warzone.

Battle Royale Ranked Play

Battle Royale Ranked Play is making a highly anticipated comeback in Warzone starting with Season 1.
This brings a competitive atmosphere to the vast Warzone map, allowing players to test their skills in a more structured environment. By excelling in strategy, positioning, and combat, players can rise through the ranks and earn exclusive rewards that reflect their achievements.
Removal of backpack and return of Satchels
One significant change is the reintroduction of the classic in-game inventory system. This means there will be no more backpack in the game.

To simplify gameplay and enhance muscle memory, players will have a series of slots in their non-loadout inventory for the following items:
- Cash on hand
- Gas Mask
- Armor Plates
- Killstreaks
- Field Upgrade
- Primary, secondary, and melee Weapons
- Ammunition for ARs, SMGs, shotguns, snipers, and launchers
Selecting equipment and requesting items from squadmates has become much more intuitive, with the primary limitation being the total amount of inventory space available. To address this, Satchels have made a return, providing a solution to expand your carry capacity.

Satchels are optional, lootable items that enhance the storage capacity of inventory slots during a match. This particular item has two types:
- Armor Satchel: Significantly increases the capacity for carrying armor plates.
- Munitions Satchel: Expands ammunition storage for ARs, SMGs, shotguns, snipers, and launchers.
If a player with Satchels is eliminated, all their Satchels will drop and can be looted.
Weapon and loadout adjustments

With Black Ops 6, Warzone will receive an arsenal update, adding new weapons to the game and revamping the loadout system.
You can look forward a variety of Black Ops 6-exclusive weapons to be integrated into Warzone, including high-tech assault rifles, sniper rifles with advanced optics, and new LMGs designed for suppressing fire. Some fan-favorites from previous Black Ops games will also return with updated stats.
In addition to your primary and secondary weapons, you can now carry a third weapon into Warzone: a melee weapon. This close-combat tool, typically a knife or bat, offers no ranged capabilities but provides a more effective alternative to the gun butt strike.
The BO6 era of Warzone also introduces global weapon builds. This loadout and gunsmith enhancement lets you modify any weapon build or blueprint across all game modes, including Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. However, these changes apply exclusively to BO6 weapons.
Carry forward content

Warzone will feature weapons, blueprints, Operators, and most of the cosmetics from Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3, along with full integration of both gameplay and cosmetic content from Black Ops 6.
Perks system
Warzone will bring in the Pick-3 system. Before entering a match, players can choose any three Perks from their loadout.
Players can further enhance their loadouts with a single Wildcard, which allows you to add one more perk.
If you’re eliminated in-game, your equipped Pick-3 Perks Pack drops, similar to current mechanics, and can be looted by others.

During a match, players can gather additional Perks beyond their Pick-3 loadout by finding them in caches or other locations around the map. To keep gameplay fresh, sets of Perks will be periodically rotated in and out of the loot pool.
Meanwhile, the powerful Specialist Perk Package will continue to be available as a rare find.
These Warzone changes aim to make Perks more dynamic, adding new layers of strategy to each match.
Warzone mastery camos

Black Ops 6 continues the Call of Duty legacy by offering an array of mastery camos that reflect dedication, skill, and extensive playtime.
For the first time, Warzone will also feature its own set of four mastery camos, designed specifically for every weapon in BO6, allowing players to showcase their achievements and expertise.
Classic Prestige and Relocks

Classic Prestige, the highly detailed leveling system, will return in Black Ops 6 and will be introduced to Warzone in Season 1. It offers dedicated players an array of impressive and exclusive rewards for their hard work and commitment.
To advance through the Prestige system, your Military Levels from 1-55 will be reset, also referred to as “relocked,” and you will need to earn them again. However, your weapon progress remains intact.
You can also use Permanent Unlock Tokens to access your favorite items, and the Prestige Hub provides a convenient way to monitor and track your Prestige progression.
Other Warzone changes
- Reticle Challenges: Customizable reticles are making a return for any weapon equipped with an Optic sight.
- Dark Ops Calling Card Challenges: True to the Black Ops tradition, these challenges are back with deviously difficult tasks. The criteria for unlocking these tasks remain hidden until completed, offering the most prestigious and secretive Calling Card rewards available.
- Emotes and Sprays: Enhancing Operator personalization, Emotes and Sprays are returning. Emotes allow for character interaction anywhere under player control, while Sprays let you mark walls with tactical icons or tags.
- Ascenders and Ziplines: The experience of using Ascenders and Ziplines has been enhanced for greater fluidity. The animations for starting, using, and completing ascents or zips are now smoother and quicker, making the entire process feel more streamlined and efficient.
- Live Ping Durations Reduced: The duration that a ping remains visible has been shortened, allowing for clearer views of critical locations once an area of interest has been marked.
- Menu and UI: In an effort to streamline the Call of Duty experience, Warzone’s menus and in-match user interface have been simplified. This improvement enables faster entry into matches and a more immediate understanding of the game situation.
- Infil and Exfil: Expect engaging updates to both the Infil and Exfil sequences, along with some additional surprises at launch, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the game.
